Jennifer Elder

Jennifer Elder is the President and founder of The Sustainable CFO. She has a background in accounting and finance that spans more than 25 years. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). She has a Masters of Science in Organizational Management and Leadership. Jennifer is also a faculty member at Antioch University New England in the Green MBA program.

Jennifer has worked with organizations around the country ranging in size from 2 to 60 employees, from start-ups with $0 in revenue to mature organizations with $172 million in revenue, in a variety of industries including real estate, construction and development, manufacturing and distribution, software and hardware development, angel investing, professional services, and non-profits.

She has a passion for helping businesses succeed. She loves tackling challenges and finding unique solutions to difficult problems. Defining issues, breaking them down into understandable parts, and developing simple and effective solutions is something she sees as fun.

Jennifer also believes strongly in the benefits of sustainability – where being environmentally and socially responsible overlap with business success. The tangible benefits of implementing sustainable strategies can be seen in reduced energy costs, reduced operating costs, improved stakeholder relations, new market opportunities, and employee retention.
